Updated: February 22, 2010 Hanthala Cartoons Are Spoken For by Refugee Children Feb 19, 2010 In a digital arts workshop, Palestinian refugee children bring silent Hanthala characters to life with their own interpretation of famous Palestinian comics. Hanthala is the brainchild of renowned Palestinian artist Naji Al Ali who was assassinated by Israeli death squads in 1987. But his art continues to inspire generations of Palestinian artists in the diaspora and his prophetic comics continue to resonate decades after his death. The interactive multimedia projects were recorded with video capture utility for easier distribution and posted to YouTube playlist. http://www.youtube.com/user/micronasfilms#grid/user/036559EDDC01EB77 Naji Al-Ali fan website Refugee Children Give Handala a Face Madaba Palestinian Refugee Camp Animation Workshop # # # |
